I love this reframe for mindfulness! The same technique won't work for everyone. Have you tried watercolor? The sensory experience of it, especially on nice paper, is similar to the feeling of a great fountain pen ink. I especially like the granulating colors, because their outcome is unpredictable and interesting. Painting abstract shapes with watercolors is a big mindful activity for me. Walking meditation outside and bird watching also.
